The Government has agreed to provide £35 million towards the cost of the infrastructure. Council tax will be affected by the provision of these services, but the impact is less than if we continue to manage waste as we currently do, as costs of landfill are set to increase and the Council will be hit by Government fines if it exceeds targets set.
