Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve

Six hundred acres of undrained fenland with a great diversity of plant and animal life. There are hides to view the birds, an informative display and a restored fen cottage. Self-catering accommodation is available and there are special facilities for the disabled, most notably a 3/4 mile boarded walkway.

Open: Daily except Christmas Day. Parties by appointment only. Fen cottage open Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays or by prior arrangement.

NB: Various public footpaths cross Wicken Fen. They should be clearly waymarked and they can be used at any time. See our online interactive map for more information.

Location: 9 miles south-east of Ely off the A1123 in Wicken.

Charges: There is an admission charge with reductions for pre-booked parties of 15 or more. Admission for National Trust Members is free.

Parking: Free in the National Trust's car park on Lode Lane close to the entrance.

Public Transport: Wicken
