Ouse Washes Reserve

A nature reserve covering 2,000 acres visited by a variety of waterfowl. In the winter, the reserve attracts thousands of ducks and swans; redshanks, lapwings and snipe breed in the summer. Walking behind the banks avoids putting the wildfowl to flight. There are ten hides on the reserve for watching the wildlife.

Open: The hides: always open. Visitor Centre: 9am to 5pm daily, except 25th and 26th December.

Charges: Non-members - £1 donation.
