The Ethnic Minority Achievement Grant (EMAG) provides schools with additional support to address inequalities of achievement among identified Black and minority ethnic groups (Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Black Caribbean and Black African) and to develop the English language skills of bilingual learners.
EMAG is primarily to fund additional staff (teachers, bilingual and/or teaching assistants) to work alongside mainstream teachers within the class setting.
Schools have the option:
- to use the grant to employ their own additional staff, or
- buy into the CREDS EMAG Team for specific projects or to support identified groups or individuals
