Bullying
Extras

The Office of Children and Young People’s Services defines bullying as a persistent deliberate attempt to hurt or humiliate someone.

There may sometimes be misunderstanding about the meaning of the term ‘bullying’: one-off incidents, whilst they may be very serious and must always be dealt with, do not fall within the definition of ‘bullying’.

Schools and colleges within Cambridgeshire aim to create an environment in which all children can feel safe, secure and happy. This is when children can learn most effectively.

Occasionally, however, some children may suffer from being bullied at school. When the bullying is persistent the effect can be serious, upsetting and long-lasting.

Schools, colleges and the Local Authority are determined to stop bullying behaviour because of the unhappiness and stress it causes to all concerned.
