Encouraging business success
Businesses and entrepreneurs that use support services to assist in start-up, survival and growth, are more likely to achieve their full potential, particularly during the early stages. This section aims to provide a guide to the key business support services available in Cambridgeshire, but it is not exhaustive.
Access to specialist resources, business networks and events for sharing best practice can be invaluable in enabling businesses of any size to respond to new challenges and opportunities.
Cambridgeshire has an extremely active business networking culture and an abundance of support is available from general business services to highly specialist niche networks. Although the Council does not provide business support services directly, it helps to shape the business support strategy for the county and ensures its effective delivery.
Other forms of help and assistance are available to local businesses through Trading Standards, particularly with regard to trading law requirements, licensing and registrations and consumer complaints and advice.
In the unfortunate event that redundancies are being considered, guidance for businesses and employees is available from Directgov.
