How can I find out the population of an area?

Population estimates and forecasts for wards and dwellings can be from Research, Performance and Business Intelligence Team's population pages. Other information such as on historic census data can be assessed from this page.

For example, what is the population of Abbey ward, Cambridge?  The latest Research, Performance and Business Intelligence Team estimates are available at ward level for mid-2010, in the summary document or the Cambridge City excel file. The Office for National Statistics data is available for the Cambridge area.

The Research, Performance and Business Intelligence Team produces annual population estimates for parishes, wards and settlements in the administrative area of Cambridgeshire (which, since 1st April 1998, no longer includes Peterborough).

How do I order a copy of the latest Business Directory?

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Business Guide and Directory 2010-2011 is available from June 2010. You can order your free copy by filling out an online form. You will then receive a copy automatically.

When will the 2011 Census results become available?

The Office for National Statistics  is expected to publish a prospectus setting out the timetable for releasing the census data in March 2012. The first results are expected later in the year. More information can be found the ONS website
