Housing Research

The County Council's Research, Performance and Business Intelligence Team has carried out a number of studies researching housing needs in the area.

A major project in 2008 was the development of the first Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA), which can be accessed by the link at the bottom of this page. This was commissioned by the sub-regional housing board (CRHB), and covers the whole Cambridge housing sub-region. It is a robust view of the strategic housing needs of the area and is reviewed and updated annually. Copies of the 2010 document are available on the external link on the right hand side of this page.

There is an ongoing programme of New Development Surveys in the Cambridge sub-region and these can be accessed via the relevant link on the left.

If you are seeking information about the number or type of houses in the County then please refer to our Census 2001 and Population pages.

For the latest information about major housing development in Cambridgeshire, please see the Research and Monitoring group's Major Housing Development page. The link can also be found on the right hand side.
