Working to help businesses in Cambridgeshire

The Home Authority Principle has been developed by food and trading standards authorities as an aid to good enforcement practice.

The aim of the principle is to provide businesses with a home authority source of guidance and advice, provide a system for the resolution of disputes and ensure that there is effective liaison between local authorities

In Cambridgeshire, we are happy to develop working relationships with local businesses by offering them advice and guidance.  This helps us to ensure high standards of public protection are maintained.

The Home Authority, have an important role to play, as they cover the area where the relevant decision-making base of an enterprise is located.

The Originating Authority is the area where an enterprise produces goods and services provided in or distributed to other authority areas

All authorities are enforcing authorities and retains its ultimate statutory responsibility for the enforcement of the law
