Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations 2005  Selling and storing fireworks

The Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations (MSER) came into force on 26 April 2005 and largely replaces the 1875 Explosives Act. If you store fireworks, you still require registration or licence from the local authority, i.e., Trading Standards.

Any trader storing and/or retailing fireworks or other explosives should be aware of how the new regulations impact on their business. Fuller details appear in our guidance leaflet – to access it, click on the link opposite.

Further information can be accessed on the Department of Trade and Industry and the Health and Safety Executive websites  - See links opposite.
