The Home Shield Scheme is a referral scheme set up so that when agencies such as Trading Standards and the police come across a person who needs greater support and assistance than we can provide (eg they aren’t able to prepare meals) we can refer them onto other agencies that will be able to provide them with that help.
No referral will be made without an individual’s consent, and if consent is provided, the referral is then passed to Age UK who co-ordinates the scheme and will contact the appropriate support agencies.
So where do businesses fit into this? Although the scheme is largely designed for partner agencies, it is the well being of the individual that is at the heart of the scheme. So if you have a customer that you are concerned about in terms of their wellbeing, then you are welcome to contact us, and we will make contact with them.
