A fair day's work for a fair day's pay.
If you live in Cambridgeshire, are aged over 60 or have a physical disability or learning difficulty you are eligible to use the Cambridgeshire Registered Trader scheme.
The scheme will put you in touch with a wide choice of traders in Cambridgeshire who can cope with most jobs in and around the home.
They have all been Police checked and Trading Standards audited and agree to do a fair day's work for a fair day's pay.
Why use a Registered Trader?
Using this list of registered and checked traders could prevent older and vulnerable residents being taken for a ride by cowboy companies.
Rogue traders have been known to threaten older people until they pay over the odds for shoddy workmanship and some residents have been left feeling frightened or too ashamed to tell anyone.
How does the scheme work?
The scheme puts older or vulnerable people in touch with traders that will repair a broken fence, fit a washer to a leaking tap, put up a new TV aerial or even tidy up a garden.
Just one phone call to Age Concern Cambridgeshire will put customers in touch with local traders who can carry out a range of work in and around their home. More than 50 traders across the County have signed up to the scheme - from bricklayers and gardeners to window cleaners.
