Many activities rely on teams of hard working and enthusiastic volunteers. Volunteering allows you to make a real difference to the community, meet new people and gain new skills. It is also possible to work hours which suit you and can be fitted around other areas of your life, such as paid work and childcare.
Youth work volunteers
There are lots of different ways that you can get involved with youth work. These include:
- using your financial skills and knowledge as an adviser or treasurer
- using IT skills on a project or in a youth club
- using specialist knowledge to help with our training
- using some of your spare time to serve on committees and working groups
You can also support our work by believing in young people and speaking up on their behalf. To find out more, please contact the Youth Development Coordinator in your area.
Children's Centres volunteers
By becoming a Children’s Centre volunteer you will be supporting staff in a range of groups and activities whilst having an active role to play in your local community. We can help you to learn new skills and support you in seeking employment opportunities as a direct result of volunteering.
To find out more visit your local Children’s Centre or contact the Children's Centre Support Team on 01223 699786 or at childrenscentres@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.
