Strengthening families - strengthening communities

13 three hour sessions. An opportunity to share ideas, strategies, tips, learn about your parenting style and why your child behaves the way he/she does.  Excellent for parents-to-be, those who just want to improve their skills and those who need a bit more help and encouragement.

Raising children

This is an open access parenting course, which consists of ten, two hour sessions aimed at parents of two to twelve year olds. Some of the topics covered on this course are: Parenting Styles, Effective Listening, Parents/Children's Needs, Effects of Labelling, Understanding and dealing with challenging behaviour, and building self esteem and confidence.

Raising teens

This is an open access parenting course, which consists of ten, two hour sessions aimed at parents of teenagers. Some of the topics covered on this course are:

  • Understanding your teenagers,
  • Parenting Styles
  • Effective Listening
  • Parents/Children's Needs
  • Effects of Labelling
  • Understanding and dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Building self esteem and confidence.

Sibling rivalry

3 two hour sessions for parents who are experiencing issues with siblings in the family. Aims to explore the underlying reasons behind why siblings fight and to share some effective strategies for handling sibling rivalry. Some of the topics covered include:

  • Roots of sibling rivalry
  • Fears about sibling rivalry
  • Triggers to sibling rivalry
  • Effective strategies for handling sibling rivalry

1-2-3 Magic 

A short course - over either 2 two hour sessions or 4 two hour sessions - which will help to address the difficult task of child discipline by using humour, keen insight and proven experience.
