I've heard of Parent Support Advisers - what do they do?
Parent Support Advisers are there to support you and your child to get the best from school.
Parent Support Advisers do this by:
- offering one to one support
- listening to parents and carers and giving confidential support and guidance
- giving a chance to meet with other parents and carers
- providing information about other relevant services in Cambridgeshire
- running parenting courses
- putting parents and carers in touch with support groups
You might want to use a Parent Support Adviser for issues like these......
- "my child's behaviour is getting out of hand"
- "I have got lots of questions about being a parent"
- "I'm worried about the next parent's evening"
- I just need someone I can talk to"
- "Since my partner left me things haven't been the same"
- "I would like to know who else I can talk to about how my situation has changed"
- "I'm really worried about my daughter's schooling this year. Her self esteem is a problem"
To get in touch with your Parent Support Adviser ask at your child's school, or contact the Locality Manager at your Locality Team
