A ward to ward level examination of commuting patterns across the county
This spreadsheet matrix details the origin and destination of all residents and workers in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough at the ward level
The Census 2001 provides origin-destination tables that detail where every worker in the country lives (i.e. origin) and where every employed resident in the country works (i.e. destination). Combining these outputs means that commuting flows between areas can be identified.
This spreadsheet matrix identifies commuting patterns for every ward within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Areas outside the county are grouped by historic county (i.e. administrative county plus any unitary authority) except for London which is included as a whole i.e. Greater London.
Note that very small numbers were adjusted by ONS in order to protect the confidentiality of respondents and that people aged 16 to 74 only are covered.
