Cambridgeshire Compact

Cambridgeshire County Council works with the voluntary sector through an agreement called the Compact.

The Compact is a countywide partnership approach between statutory bodies and the voluntary and community sector. It has been designed to improve working relationships and provide a framework within which we can understand what to expect from each other.

The Compact provides:

  • a set of Undertakings that clarify roles and expectations;
  • an agreement to work towards 3-year funding cycles;
  • a recommended 12 weeks notice of changes;
  • an honest problem-solving environment;
  • a set of Good Practice Codes.

All statutory groups and organisations including Housing Associations, Parish Councils, and voluntary and community groups who support Compact values and principles can join a Compact.

The National Compact has been revised with a new simplified format. This format combines the overarching National Compact agreement and the supporting five Codes of Good Practice into one unified document. For further information please use the link on the right to the Renewed Compact.

The Compact is managed by the County Council's Community Engagement Team.
