The Trading Standards Service's Education and Information Team works in partnership with schools to make sure that consumer education services are provided to young people throughout Cambridgshire.
The issues addressed by the team are wide-ranging covering all aspects of consumer rights and responsibilities and how the Trading Standards Service works to ensure a safe and fair trading environment in Cambridgeshire.
We organise local training events, site visits, workshops, talks and exhibitions and publish locally relevant materials tailored to the needs of schools and teachers.
In addition to responding to specific requests for talks and workshops, we provide:
- teaching plans, notes and activities through the Ask Cedric website.
- teaching packs linked to curriculum guidelines and accompanying teachers notes.
- Consumer Challenge Quiz
- Playsafe Competition
- Safety Zones
Details on all these resources can be accessed through the links on the left. In addition, a variety of posters and public information leaflets are also available.
Within Cambridgeshire County Council, the Education Team will normally deliver workshops, issue teaching packs and materials, free of charge. Outside this area, or where commercial interests are involved, some services may involve a small charge.
