Age Concern Cambridgeshire together with the Police and Trading Standards is asking people to make sure they understand what they need to do to ensure a smooth changeover when television reception changes from analogue to digital. <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
The digital switchover occurred in the Whitehaven and Copeland TV region in Cumbria on 17 October 2007 and will be rolled out across the country.
Ruth Rogers Information and Communication Manager from Age Concern Cambridgeshire said “We need to make sure that this is not an opportunity for Rogue Traders and distraction burglaries. The better-informed people are, the less chance there is that criminals will be able to take advantage of vulnerable people. We have plenty of time in this area, let’s make sure we get the facts out”

Age Concern Cambridgeshire and other members of the Distraction Burglary and Rogue Trader Task group which includes Police and Trading Standards, will continue to monitor the situation and get advice out to the public on a regular basis.
