Cambridgeshire is the county with the largest population of Travellers in the UK and the range of different services and organisations that address Traveller issues and who work with the community everyday is just as wide.
Cambridgeshire is coming together to establish a network of involvement whereby working practices and channels of communication can be established to improve efficiency in service delivery and support all those who work in the field. Some areas of this County Wide strategy are informal (such as the use of contact lists and linking websites) and others are more prescriptive, such as working protocols, referral processes and Service Level Agreements.
This area of the website in particular is host to a virtual handbook for staff across the County to share information about their work with Travellers and to provide contact details for those who wish to link in with what they do or how they do it.
The documents here describe work with Travellers undertaken by each service provider. If you would like your organisation to be able to share information, contact details and to link in with others in similar areas here, please contact the Traveller Liaison Officer at Cambridgeshire County Council.
