Travellers sites

There are a number of local authority traveller sites in Cambridgeshire.

  • Five sites in Fenland.
  • Two in East Cambs.
  • Two in South Cambs.
  • One in Huntingdonshire.

There are limited places and each has its own waiting list (which is often very long). To find out more information about pitches and how the sites are run, contact the district councils.

These sites are provided by Cambridgeshire County Council but are managed by each of the district councils (although Huntingdon’s site is managed by Huntingdon Housing Partnership). The sites vary in sizes and types of location. The sites are self-funded but often benefit greatly from the Government’s Gypsy Site Refurbishment Grant (GSRG). From 2006, this will be through the Regional Housing Board.
