Access to Information

The Freedom of Information Act has created a new level of openness and transparency between the public and local government, and encourages engagement of the public in local democracy.

The Act brings a wider right of access to information held by Public Authorities and and a higher level of accountability from Public Authorities.

The Council wants the citizens of Cambridgeshire to have access to all the information they need in order that they can become involved in the Council's work.

Cambridgeshire County Council already makes a large amount of information available to its citizens.  Information can be obtained through its website, leaflets and many other publications.

If you make a request under the Act, we will tell you whether or not we hold that information and, subject to any exmeptions which may apply, we aim to provide you with the information within 20 working days.
