This Code of Practice applies to all councillors, candidates, political agents and staff and sets out the roles and rights of candidates at parliamentary, european, county and district elections. It takes effect one month prior to an election date.
The code has been agreed by all three political group leaders. Any comments or problems arising should be addressed initially to the relevant Director or to the County Returning Officer.
The Code is part of the Council's Constitution. A copy of the code is available below.
