The County Council is a democratically elected body consisting of 69 councillors who are elected for a period of 4 years. Councillors are often referred to as Members.
The Council's decision making process is based on a Council Leader and a Cabinet. Following the County Council election on 2nd May, the election of a Leader of the Council will take place on 21st May 2013.
