Community and Adult Services
The Acting Executive Director: Community and Adult Services is Pat Harding.
Community and Adult Services (CAS) commission and provide a range of services that are Cambridgeshire County Council’s (CCC) contribution to the health and overall well-being of adults and communities.
In broad terms these services include:
- Prevention, localism and support.
- Assessment of the needs of adults and communities with particular vulnerabilities.
- Commissioning, procuring and providing services that meet those assessed needs.
- Opportunities for life long learning, skills, cultural and community engagement.
- Safeguarding and protecting adults
The key priorities are:
- Safeguarding adults with vulnerabilities from abuse and discrimination.
- Promoting health, wellbeing, quality of life and independence at an individual, family and community level.
- Promoting choice and control with particular emphasis on engagement, prevention and localism.
The key outcomes are enabling and encouraging:
- Improved health and well-being
- Improved quality of life
- Making a positive contribution
- Increased choice and control
- Freedom from discrimination and harassment
- Economic well-being
- Maintaining personal dignity and respect
There are four Directorates in Community and Adult Services:
- Strategy and Commissioning (Adult Social Care)
- Operations (Adult Social Care)
- Community Engagement (Fenland)
- Libraries, Learning and Culture
