The Corporate Director: Finance, Property and Performance is Nick Dawe.
Finance, Property and Performance supports the Council's budget holders and is also leading on financial performance management across the authority, which will enable us to operate more effectively. We also manage the Council's property portfolio.
Audit and Risk Management
The Audit and Risk Management service provides advice and support to Officers and carries out assurance work on major Council projects. It is also responsible for setting up a risk management framework for the Council and ensuring that the Council is adequately insured against risk.
Finance and Performance
The Finance & Performance services support the Council's budget holders, while Performance Management is responsible for setting performance management frameworks and managing the Council's performance reporting system.
Research and Financial Strategy
The Research and Financial Strategy service provides an intelligence and research unit and manages corporate finance issues. Research is undertaken for the Council and its partners, on wide-ranging socio-economic data and analysis and support with consultations. Work is managed through Service Level Agreements with a range of internal and external customers. Financial Strategy provides a strategic and co-ordination focus to the key financial processes, setting the process, timetables and standards with regard to Integrated Planning, budgetary control and published financial reporting (both for revenue and capital planning).
Shared Services
Shared Services provides operational financial services including purchase orders, paying invoices, invoicing clients, management of debt and financial assessment and benefit checking of older people. It also provides technical accounting and financial systems support, taxation and accounting regulations and investment management of the Pension Fund and Council reserves.
Property and Estates
Property Commissioning concentrates on the management and commissioning of the property capital programme and maintenance works. Strategy & Estates leads on asset management, including the county farms estate, and development of our property assets.
