The Deputy Chief Executive of Environment and Community Services is Brian Smith.
The Office of Environment and Community Services was established on 1 April 2005, as part of the County Council’s reorganisation.
It includes most of the Council’s customer-facing services, apart from those that are covered by the Office of Children’s and Young People’s Services. This very broad range of functions and responsibilities is fulfilled by six Directorates within ECS:
- Customer Service
- Highways and Access
- Adult Support Services
- Sustainable Infrastructure
- Environment and Regulation
- Community Learning and Development
