The Director of Highways and Access is Mark Kemp
This Directorate leads the Council’s contributions towards changing the way people travel our roads and providing a safer environment to walk, cycle and drive.
Its activities are diverse and operate at many levels, from influencing travel mode choices to advice on highway land and rights of way, and from development of asset management systems to practical services such as the management of contract bus services and the maintenance of the highway network.
Highways & Access has approximately 175 staff and manages expenditure of over £19 million.
