The Executive Director of Environment Services is Alex Plant.
The two Service Directorates within Environment Services aim to manage and deliver the growth and development of sustainable communities, and meet the challenges of climate change and enhance the natural environment through:
- ensuring growth is environmentally sustainable,minimising environmental impact
- ensuring new housing development is matched by investment in physical and social infrastructure to foster thriving communities
- maintaining and further developing a reliable and effective transport infrastructure throughout Cambridgeshire that promotes the use of public transport, minimises environmental harm and reduces congestion
- reducing the Council’s negative impacts on the environment and helping our services
- Cambridgeshire businesses and communities to adapt to the local impacts of climate change
- working with businesses and consumers to help communities thrive
