Broadband Access

The Cambridgeshire Community Network (CCN) has provided a 'broadband' network to schools, offices and public places across Cambridgeshire. Broadband is revolutionising the use of the internet - providing a faster service and access to large documents.

The Cambridgeshire Community Network (CCN), a partnership with NTL and other local organisations, has provided broadband access to over 400 locations across the county.

The £29 million Network has established a broadband ‘backbone’ between Cambridge, Ely, March and Huntingdon. From these points, CCN branches out into towns and villages, providing sites from libraries to learning centres, and post offices to pubs with broadband access.

The Cambridgeshire Community Network continues to make a significant contribution to improving access to our services throughout the county, and has won Beacon Status (a national award) for promoting social inclusion through the use of technology.
