Cambridge train station is within walking distance of Shire Hall, approximately 1.75 miles (2.8km).

The C1, C3 and C7 buses all go from the train station to Drummer Street bus station in the centre of town, leaving every few minutes. The C5 or C6 will then take you to Shire Hall, but see the bus page for more details (link on the left).

Taxis are also available from the train station to Shire Hall costing approximately £7-£9 depending on traffic.

Cambridge train station is well served by frequent train services. Including main services from:

London (45 minutes - 1 hour 15 minutes)
Stansted Airport (35 minutes - 1 hour 5 minutes)
Ipswich (1 hour 25 minutes)
Peterborough (52 minutes - 1 hour 10 minutes)
Kings Lynn (50 minutes - 1 hour)
Birmingham (3 hours - 3 hours 30 minutes)

The rail station has cycle and car parking, travel information, ticket sales, toilets, refreshments,  a shop and a tourist bus office.
