The access point onto the site by foot and bike can be found from Castle Street.
Arriving by bus from Drummer Street Bus Station
From the main bus station (Drummer Street) it is only 1.1km to Shire Hall. The walk passes through the heart of the historic city centre and takes between 10 and 15 minutes.
- From Drummer Street make your way to St Andrew Street (the main Post Office is on this street). You can do this by either walking along Emmanuel Street or by walking through Bradwell Court arcade (past Argos).
- Turn right (northwards) along St Andrew Street and bear left (at Lloyds TSB) onto Sidney Street.
- Walk straight along Sidney Street (past Next, Waterstones, Sainsburys) onto Bridge Street.
- Keep going straight on, over the river, onto Magdalene Street.
- Continue uphill onto Castle Street. Shire Hall is on the right.
Walking from Cambridge Train Station to Shire Hall
Shire Hall is within walking distance from Cambridge train station, approximately 1.75 miles (2.8km). From the station entrance/exit walk straight to the end of Station Road and turn right onto Hills Road. Walk straight along Hills Road onto Regents Street. Walk straight along Regents Street onto St Andrews Street. Walk northwards along St Andrew Street and bear left onto Sidney Street after passing Bradwells Court. Walk straight along Sidney Street onto Bridge Street. Keep going straight onto Magdalene Street then straight onto Castle Street for Shire Hall.
