Information Sharing
Extras

Sharing information is vital for early intervention to ensure that children and young people get the services they require. It is also essential to protect children and young people from suffering harm from abuse or neglect, and to prevent them from offending.

The Information Sharing and School Improvement Service has produced an Information Sharing Resource Pack .

The pack contains guidance for immediate use by all practitioners who work with children or young people. It is also useful for non practitioners who come into contact with children and young people and who need to know about information sharing and data processing.

The pack comprises three main parts:

  • Core guidance - giving practitioners clear practical guidance, drawing on experience and the public consultation
  • A set of case examples which illustrate information sharing situations
  • A summary of the laws affecting information sharing in respect of children and young people.
  • There are also supporting fact sheets and case studies, leaflets and a flowchart. These include a sample privacy statement, information for parents and young people, information for schools and much more.

For a paper copy of the pack please contact
