Every school, education provider and early years setting in Cambridgeshire processes personal data about its pupils. This data may only be used or passed on for specific purposes allowed by the law.
The purpose of a Fair Processing Notice (FPN) is to inform pupils and parents about this information. The FPN shows what information is held, why it is held, and the third parties to whom it may be passed.
This year, Fair Processing Notices are separated into specific Primary and Secondary documents, as well as Early Years and Alternative Provision. Another change this year is that FPNs have been broken down into two different layers (except for Early Years):
Layer One: must be provided to parents as a hard copy
Layer Two: the fully-comprehensive FPN with all relevant information about the use and process of pupil data.
