Our Priorities

Over the past year, we have revised our long-term vision and identified the key challenges and priorities for delivering services to our residents. This has been achieved through consultation with residents, local community groups and our partners in the public, private and voluntary sector as well as with our employees, through surveys, focus groups and road shows. The results are seen in our new Strategic Objectives, Service Delivery Principles and Improvement Priorities.

The Strategic Objectives are important issues over the next 10-15 years that we need to address in the longer term. It should be noted that action is already being taken on many of these issues.

The Service Delivery Principles are the Council's guiding principles, which we will apply as we continue to develop and improve our services.

The Improvement Priorities are areas within our Strategic Objectives and Service Delivery Principles that we plan to target for immediate improvement.

The objectives, principles and improvement priorities are listed below. More detail can be found at the Integrated Plan link on the right-hand side of this page.
