Cambridgeshire County Council has been awarded Beacon Status in the category of Asset Management (2005-06).

Beacon status
The  Beacon scheme is run by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. It identifies a number of authorities which have demonstrated excellence in a particular area and then provides them with the resources to share their best practice with other councils.

Achievements
This award recognises Cambridgeshire's achievements in Asset Management. For further information please see the Beacon Theme Guide link on the right hand side.

Disseminating Best Practice
Cambridgeshire has disseminated best practice in asset management through a range of channels.

A key element was the Open Day held on Tuesday 25th October 2005.

We offered a mentoring service to authorites seeking advice, support and one to one consultation and mentoring for key personnel in asset management.
