The county is required by regional planning guidance to accommodate a minimum of 4,000 new homes a year to 2016 equating to 57,400 in total.
This change will put pressure on essential services, such as schools, libraries, roads, waste and homecare as well as the long-term infrastructure development.
This requires an ambitious programme to develop the property assets to ensure delivery of services. To support this process Strategy and Estates worked with Leicestershire County Council and the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) to tender a framework contract for "Estate Management Consultancy".
