Terms and conditions of purchase for customers
Please read these conditions carefully before using our website as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law. By using this website or making a purchase either electronically via this website, or by phone via the Cambridgeshire Direct Contact Centre you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Nothing in these terms and conditions affects your statutory rights.
Postage and packing
Postage and packing for each item in the catalogue will be displayed alongside the price of each item. The system will automatically add up the postage as additional items are added to your shopping basket.
Postage is charged at a flat rate which will apply regardless of where the item is to be sent.
UK VAT
VAT is not payable except where it is clearly stated on the online shopping page.
Description of items
Each item purchased is sold subject to its Item Description which sets out any additional specific conditions related to that item including, without limitation, terms and conditions concerning estimated delivery dates and times, warranties and guarantees.
We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of items appearing on the website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system.
Although we aim to keep the website as up to date as possible, the information including Item Descriptions appearing on this website at a particular time may not always reflect the position exactly at the moment you place an order.
Delivery arrangements
Orders will normally be dispatched within 3-5 working days from receipt of order.
Please note that orders for more than one item may be sent out from more than one department, and so may arrive separately. You can call the Cambridgeshire Direct Contact Centre to check the status of your order.
Items will normally be available for purchase immediately if displayed in the catalogue. If an item is temporarily out-of-stock, this will be indicated.
If an item is out-of-stock but is expected back in stock soon, you will be able to order it and the anticipated delivery time will be clearly stated.
If you have ordered an item which is then found to be out-of-stock, the County Council will email you stating the anticipated delivery time. You will be given the option of withdrawing your order if you would rather not wait.
Guarantee
Cambridgeshire County Council makes every effort to ensure that all information on this site, and stock availability as shown during the ordering process, is up to date, current and correct. However, the County Council does not warrant, represent or guarantee that this information is up to date, current and correct, except for displayed prices (obvious computer programming errors excepted).
If you are unhappy with any product purchased from Cambridgeshire County Council, you will be entitled to return it in its “as received” condition within 14 days to the address on the parcel.
You should state the reason for the return, and whether you require a replacement or a full refund.
If the County Council has supplied the wrong item, we will refund you the cost of returning the goods, and send you the correct item at no additional cost to you.
If the item was damaged before it reached you, we will refund the cost of returning the goods, and send you a replacement at no additional cost to you.
The refund amount will be refunded directly onto the credit/debit card that you have used for the orders. We cannot issue cash or cheque refunds.
Please ensure that returned goods are securely wrapped.
This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.
