Information Sharing and School Improvement Service (ISSIS) is responsible for implementation of the Every Child Matters information sharing programme and the provision of data and information to support school improvement and statutory processes.
OneVision is a major project designed to support Every Child Matters objectives and the five outcomes by sharing Children’s Services data across authorised services and partners through the creation of a single record for each child. The project includes a number of integrated strands brought together to provide consistent, coherent and effective information and business process services to support practitioners working with children and young people. Key areas of development include:
Information Sharing
ISSIS has responsibility for the publication and distribution of information sharing guidance within a developing framework of agreed practice for LA and external partners. A comprehensive range of training courses are also provided to support the operational use of information sharing processes and protocols.
ContactPoint
ISSIS is the local implementation team for the national ContactPoint. The work includes a wide range of preparatary tasks involving briefing and training, identification of key stakeholders and data providers and planning the training and access for the children's workforce in the LA, schools and partner organisations.
Children’s Service Information System
ISSIS has responsibility for developing and implementing a new single information system to support the work of practitioners working with children and young people and a wide range of associated business processes across Children’s services. These include: ICS, eCAF, Admissions and Transfers, school transport, governors, Childrens Support Services etc. We will be working in collaboration with a key software supplier and internal colleagues to deliver a system based on a single record for each child.
Integrated working training
ISSIS has responsibility for the administration and co-ordination of training to support the implementation and roll-out of a range of Every Child Matters initiatives. This includes briefings, train the trainers and specialist modules to support Information Sharing, ContactPoint, eCAF, CAF, ICS and implemention of CSIS.
Management and collection of statutory data
ISSIS has responsibility for ensuring that statutory School census, end of Key Stage and Foundation Stage performance data is collected electronically from schools. This data is collated and validated so that it can be used to inform Local Authority (LA) and Government planning and analysis reports e.g. School Performance Tables and End of Key Stage Parent Reports.
Provision of data and performance information
ISSIS provides performance data services for schools and LA staff through the provision of datasets (RAISEonline) and databases (FFT), standard reports (linked files), bespoke analysis for specific purposes and advice and data to meet a range of ad-hoc requests.
