Online school admissions for 2009 proving popular

Last year many Cambridgeshire parents chose to apply for places in Reception, Year 3 (infant to junior transfer only) or Year 7 on the county council’s online system.

For Year 7 54% of parents applied online; Reception 43% of parents and infant to junior 48% applied online. In addition, for those transferring from Gamlingay First School to Gamlingay Village College 58% of parents chose to apply online.

The County Council are delighted that the online system has proved so popular with parents. The admissions homepage www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/admissions  has links to OfSTED reports, performance tables, school details, including websites and a number of frequently asked questions.

The online facility for 2009 entry is now live. It can be found at http://www/education/parents/admission/online/  on the right hand side of the page.

There is also a helpful online guide at the top of the page on the right hand side.

So far the site has proved very popular this year with over 1700 online secondary applications, nearly 700 primary applications and 124 junior applications.

Any queries should be emailed to admissions@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or the Admissions Team contacted on 01223 712755.
