Only in very exceptional circumstances would a child be placed in a younger year group, regardless of where they may have previously been educated, unless they have been taught in the year below their normal age group for a significant period of time.  In such cases we would wish to see a statement to this effect from the previous school.

What if I do not wish my child to attend a school?

Your child must be receiving education (whether in a school setting or being educated at home) from the term following their fifth birthday.

Deciding to educate your child(ren) at home is an important decision which requires a great deal of thought and consideration.
