Good behaviour and attendance at school are vital if children are to make the most of the educational opportunities available to them. If children are not attending school regularly and punctually and behaving well in the classroom they will not be able to keep up with their school work and may miss out on their chances of a good education.
Children who fail to attend school regularly or who persistently misbehave are more likely to:
- leave school with few if any qualifications;
- be at risk of becoming involved in criminal activity;
- have difficulty holding down a job;
- experience social and other problems later in life.
Children get one chance at school. It is vital that they make the most of it.
