The Early Years and Childcare Service Workforce Development Team supports people employed in the early years and childcare sector to:
- gain qualifications in childcare and playwork - from initial qualifications through to management or degree level
- develop their careers through professional development training
Early Years and Childcare Training Programme
Training courses and qualifications are listed in the annual ‘Early Years and Childcare Service Training Programme’. Copies are distributed to all early years and childcare providers in Cambridgeshire during July each year. On the right of this page you wil find a link to this year’s edition of the training programme and a special leaflet listing courses on first aid and food hygiene.
Training Providers
The Early Years and Childcare Service runs its own training provision, the Early Years and Childcare Training Centre, based at Bar Hill. (See link to leaflet, on the right.) It also works with a range of other local training providers - details are included in the ‘Early Years and Childcare Service Training Programme’ – see link on the right of this page.
Funding
Funding may be available to support certain courses. You can read about funding in the ‘Early Years and Childcare Service Training Programme’ – see link on the right-hand side of this page. The Workforce Development Team administers and allocates financial support for qualifications.
