Cambridgeshire County Council launched its countywide Code of Conduct for Home to School Travel in September 2005.
The Code of Conduct relates primarily to pupils using transport provided by the Local Authority (LA) but Codes of Conduct have also been designed specifically for those pupils who walk or cycle to and from school.
Pupils who use school transport provided by the LA, and fail to abide by the Code of Conduct, could face being banned from using the transport for a set period. Should this situation arise, it will become the responsiblity of the pupil's parent/carer, to arrange transport to and from school for this period of time.
Therefore, the LA asks that parents/carers of pupils who use school transport, familiarise themselves with the behaviour expected of their child(ren) by reading the relevant Code(s) of Conduct in the 'Code of Conduct for Home to School/College Travel' booklet. A copy of this publication is provided on the right-hand side of this page.
There are also Codes of Conduct, detailing the responsiblities of the Authority, parents/carers, schools and transport operators, and these are also published in the 'Code of Conduct for Home to School/College Travel' booklet.
