Outdoor education
The Outdoor Education Service is professionally led and managed by the Outdoor Education Adviser, who:

Provides advice and guidance on health and safety, policy and management of outdoor education and educational visits to the Director of Education, Governors and Headteachers.

Prepares, maintains and interprets the Local Authority’s policy document "Educational Visits: Policy and Guidance for Off-Site and Adventure Activities".

Monitors and supports adventurous activity provision by schools through the Local Authority’s approval procedure.

Provides advice on outdoor education matters.

Provides a range of training courses in outdoor leadership and educational visit management.
