Cambridgeshire Special Educational Needs Strategy Consultation

In order to reflect the many changes and recommendations that have been made at national level, Cambridgeshire’s Strategy for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability (the SEND Strategy) is being updated.

In the Strategy we will be outlining to parents the ways in which the local authority, together with its partners, will develop provision so that children who are identified as having SEN and/or a disability will have the best opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Cambridgeshire County Council (the local authority) consulted upon the draft Strategy from November 2011 until 31 January 2012, gathering views on the services provided to children and young people with SEN and/or a disability. These views will help us identify what elements need to be included within the Strategy and how we, together with partners, will deliver these over the next four years.

The consultation has now closed. Thank you to all those who took part and provided their views as part of the consultation process.

The updated SEND Strategy is currently being developed and will go through the council’s political process over the coming months. The final SEND Strategy is likely to be launched in May 2012.
