Transition Information Advice - changing or starting school (Choice Advice)

Extras

Deciding which schools, including which secondary school, you would prefer your child to attend is a very important decision, but the system can be confusing. The Transition Information Adviser can offer parents support, information and advice on choosing and applying for primary and secondary schools in Cambridgeshire, including starting primary school, changing schools during the school year and the move, called transition, from primary to secondary school. Information is also available on:

  • How the transfer and admissions process works
  • Primary and secondary schools
  • Admission policies and criteria for different schools
  • Travel issues
  • What happens if parents don’t get their preferred choice (appeals)

If your child is in Year 6 you will receive information from the Admissions Team at the start of the Autumn Term about transferring to secondary school. There will be a series of events across Cambridgeshire to provide families with information and support about the secondary school admissions transfer system. Dates for these events will be advertised on these web pages and further information will also be available from your school. Alternatively please contact the Transition Information Adviser using the details on the column on the right.
