Parent Groups
Extras

Are you:

  • the parent or carer of a child or young person with special educational needs?
  • interested in setting up a new parent/carer support group and need initial input and advice?
  • running a parent/carer support group and need additional input or ideas?

If so, we can help. The Parent Partnership Service (PPS) has put together a parent group support pack that we hope will encourage parents, carers and professionals to set up new groups, or develop existing ones, so that more families in Cambridgeshire can benefit from the invaluable advice and support that parents and carers have to offer each other.

The PPS parent group support package includes

  • A comprehensive parent group information pack
  • An electronic parent groups booklet with contact details and information on around 150 groups, services and organisations;

The PPS also offers:

  • A support group e-mail distribution list
  • FREE information sessions on the role of the PPS and other relevant topics, plus access to ‘Offers of Support’ from other services and organisations
  • FREE promotion via the PPS newsletter, website and the PPS Road Shows; and
  • Access to a network of other parents and carers who would like to set up a local, SEN- or activity specific group.

(ITEMS IN BOLD WILL HAVE LINKS ON EITHER THE LEFT HAND SIDE OR THE LINKS COLUMN ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE)

PPS representatives are always on hand to give 1:1 advice over the phone, via e-mail or at group meetings.

Please contact the Parent Partnership Service for more information.
