Listening Books provides a postal library service of audio books to people with special needs. Members, either schools or individuals, are entitled to an unlimited number of books, as soon as one is returned another is despatched on the same day, on long playing cassette, plus the loan of a tape recorder.

Membership is free however proof of Spld is required, ie psychologist’s assessment or a school report, to join. A ‘special request’ service is available to members who need particular books recording for study purposes.

A selection of complete and unabridged classics for adults and also a range of popular children’s fiction covering both primary and secondary level.

N.B. All libraries provide audiocassettes of books. Smaller and local libraries may need to order your request from either the central library or stock.
