Information for parents and carers
It’s a serious and worrying time if your child is being bullied. We hope that this website will provide you with information about bullying and direct you to organisations that can help and advise you.
What is Cambridgeshire County Council doing to tackle bullying?
Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) recognises young people’s concerns on this important subject. We are committed to developing a consistent approach across all services within the Office of Children and Young People’s Services (OCYPS), to recognising the range of effective work already being carried out across the County in this area and to work in partnership with internal and external agencies, young people and their parents/carers to address the many types of bullying that can take place.
So far CCC has been:
- raising awareness of bullying
- providing a strategic approach to bullying across the County
- taking a firm and positive stand against all forms of bullying
- offering support to all those involved in, or affected, by bullying
- offering advice on how to deal with specific types of bullying
- offering guidance to OCYPS colleagues working with young people
- detailing the specific role of a school’s governing body in ensuring that an effective anti-bullying strategy, including Policy and Charter, is implemented
- supporting continuing professional development
